Personalized Assistance
Experience the ACVB's team approach to sales. Once a meeting or convention is confirmed, a convention services representative is assigned to work with the group. Our convention services personnel will make the planning experience a smooth one by assisting the meeting planner with numerous details leading up to and during their event.
Some of their responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate site inspections of hotels and offsite venues.
- Assist with overflow housing needs.
- Obtain welcome letters from Atlanta's Mayor and Georgia's Governor.
- Assist clients in obtaining camera-ready hotel maps of the city.
- Coordinate staffing of ACVB information/restaurant reservation booth at the Georgia World Congress Center with the client.
- Put the client in touch with MARTA, Atlanta's rapid rail and bus system regarding any needs for customized visitor passes and information regarding the service.
- Act as the liaison between the ACVB Marketing/Public Relations departments and the client.
- International promotion opportunities through participation in the Delta Gateway Showcase and Southern Marketplace events. Additional promotional support will be given through our new point of contact in Brazil.
- Provide brochures, slides, videos and portable displays for meeting promotion.
- Link from client Web site to www.atlanta.net to increase attendee interest.
- Organize pre-convention meetings with hotels, convention centers, and public safety officials.
- Send out RFP's on behalf of the client to ACVB member companies for additional assistance, e.g. program speakers, transportation, and event planning companies.
- Provide information on ACVB housing services via Passkey, Inc. and ITS.
- Provide information on ACVB registration personnel.
- Assist the meeting planner with suggestions pertaining to entertainment, private parties and receptions, key attractions, tours, dining, and shopping.
- Answer questions related to events including questions from attendees and exhibitors.
- Assist in the collection of group history pick-up reports.
