Charles Jeffers, vice president, membership and technology of Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB), oversees the membership department, including sales and programming related to ACVB's base of more than 1,200 member companies. He is also responsible for leading the company's technology strategy through oversight of internal and external Web communications, including nine ACVB Web sites and internal software applications.

Jeffers was an integral part of $50,000 re-launch of Atlanta.net in 2007 which now includes social networking and interactive forums. He also launched the For Members Only (FMO) Web site, where ACVB members download leads, access events and convention calendars. The FMO site was the first site of its kind at fruition, and continues to be at the forefront of other convention and visitors bureau member sites.

An 11-year veteran of ACVB's technology department, Jeffers served as the director of technology prior to his appointment as vice president. His previous positions with the Bureau included technical support administrator, manager, information systems, and manager, technology. Jeffers led numerous national and international projects for ACVB, including manager of operations for the Welcome South Visitor Center for the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games, which serviced more than 20,000 visitors during the Games.
Prior to ACVB, Jeffers worked in research at Georgia State University and as a law researcher for the Supreme Court of Bermuda.

Jeffers is a member of the Destination Marketing Association International (formerly IACVB), where he serves on the Meetings Information Network (MINT) Committee. He is also an active member of the Cisco IP Telephony User's Group Southeast Chapter and the Event Business Management Software User's Group.

A 1990 graduate of American International College, Jeffers holds a master's degree in public administration from Georgia State University and a certificate of information technology management from Georgia Institute of Technology.

A native of Bermuda, Jeffers and his wife, Antoinette, have two children and reside in Atlanta.
