Vice President, Marketing Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau
Bill Howard joined Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB) in 1991 and currently serves as vice president of marketing.
Howard is responsible for marketing Atlanta as a global destination to a worldwide audience. He is responsible for developing and implementing programs that directly relate to major events happening in Atlanta including the World Series, the 1994 and 2000 Super Bowls, the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games and most recently, the NCAA Final Four. He also served as the liaison for the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games (ACOG) to assist with the day-to-day contact and communication between the ACVB and ACOG.
Howard has more than 40 years of management experience in the hospitality and transportation industry. He was the former director of the southern division, sales and marketing for Eastern Airlines. He also served as president of Leisure Planning Concepts, a wholesale tour company.
A Chattanooga, Tenn. native, Howard attended the University of Chattanooga. He currently lives with his wife, Judy in Marietta. They have two grown children.
